Realtree 1
We’re always happy to work with Realtree and this was definitely our most physically challenging project to date. We were commissioned to produce 3000 3-color posters celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2012. We created a typographic camouflage, inspired by the colors in their patterns, and layered two formes together to achieve this effect. The first pass was a split fountain in two different tans to add a bit of dimension, and the final dark brown pass features two linoleum cuts and our 5” tall wood type.
Realtree invited us to attend the 2011 ATA Show in Columbus, Ohio over the second week of January, where we imprinted the names of dealers, shops and hunting celebrities at the bottom of these posters. For two days we customized about 150 different posters with some of our smaller wood type and this tiny workhorse sign press, on gracious loan from our friends at Letterform.
