Field Day Chicago
Field Day Chicago
The Design Museum of Chicago commissioned re-imagined city flags from local artists for the first annual Field Day at Navy Pier. The design I created was based on the Starshaped ornament collection then expanded to large flags flown at the Pier in September ‘23. This print is the realization of the design in 5 press passes to create an 8-color piece. The theme of Field Day was to showcase the creativity of the city alongside its sustainability initiatives. The top stripe of the flag shows neighborhoods with trains, buses and bikes, surrounded by all-season nature and community gardens. The bottom is representative of the Loop with its proximity to the water while highlighting green roof technology. The middle buildings show four places where neighbors can work to reduce our carbon footprint and create a more viable city for the future.
