This is a Chicago Printing Office is the 7th print in my typographic memoir, The City is my Religion. It’s a rewrite of Beatrice Warde’s famous ‘This is a Printing Office’ but pulls from quotes by famous Chicagoans, ranging from Jane Addams to Barack Obama. The type is from the 20s and 30s and is set to mimic the shape of one piece of type.

The print measures 17x11” and is on Mohawk Superfine cover weight paper. It comes with a copy of the offset printed ‘blueline’ that explains all of the different elements.
