Vicinum in Horto - Individual Print
Vicinum in Horto - Individual Print
Vicinum in Horto, or Neighborhood in a Garden, is the 8th print in my typographic memoir series, The City is my Religion, and is a play on Chicago’s motto, Urbs in Horto (City in a Garden). The Y shape within a circle is part of the city’s municipal symbol, representing the two branches of the Chicago River. The trees on either side show two seasons with falling weather we see all year long. The text is anecdotal notes of urban life set in the Bernhard Gothic type family.
The print measures 17x11” and is on Mohawk Superfine cover weight paper. It comes with a copy of the offset printed ‘blueline’ that explains all of the different elements.
